Who is He?

Ah yes, the very first rival in Pokemon. He goes by many names, such as Blue, or Green, or Gary, or Buttface, or whatever your middle school bully’s name was. You encounter him multiple times throughout your adventure through Kanto, and he’s typically the toughest trainer you battle at each point in the game, mainly because he always picks the starter that has a type advantage over yours. And when he becomes champion, he has a formidable team with a huge variety of moves. You’ll need to think outside the box to take him down, or otherwise he’ll sweep your entire team faster than he can say “Smell ya later!”.
